George will complete the in-season test at the Hungaroring.
He is set to take up both of only two possible in season testing days at the Hungaroring which means Mercedes must be more than just keen to see what the GP3 front-runner can do behind the wheel of a W08. The date set is August 1st and 2nd
Naturally, Mercedes suggest he is pretty excited to embed himself further into the team:
“I’ve probably driven more virtual laps than anyone else with this car so it’s going to be incredible to drive it in reality!”
Indeed, the test marks another important milestone on George who joined the Mercedes-Benz Junior Programme for 2017.
His primary focus for this season is racing for ART Grand Prix in the GP3 Series, George has completed significant simulator mileage for the team back at base in Brackley and has been training with the physical demands of F1 in mind.
George: My biggest priority is to do a good job for the team
The 19-year-old Brit got his first experience at the wheel of a Silver Arrow, the W06 from 2015, during a private test at Portimao in early April, familiarising himself with the team’s working methods.
“My biggest priority is to do a good job for the team, to tick off the items on the engineers’ programme and make sure we get the most out of the car and our running over the two days,”
We’ll be following his progress with real interest… LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN
